savvySAVVY REST

Savvy rest uses all natural rubber for their layers and organic cotton/wool covers. This cover is similar to the Spindle mattress and the wool acts as a natural fire barrier.

Their organic mattresses are made with layers of Soft, Medium or Firm natural latex foam rubber, in a wide range of custom combinations. They create personalized comfort—and for couples, they can customize each side.  The core components are layers of natural Dunlop or Talalay latex foam. The casings are made with certified organic cotton with certified organic wool.  NO chemical flame retardants, pesticides, bleaches, dyes or other toxic finishes are used.

Mattresses & Your Health

Mattresses & Your Health

Chemical flame retardants have been linked to cancer, obesity, infertility, and developmental brain disorders. Along with other unsafe chemicals in synthetic foams and textiles, they off-gas into indoor air and degrade into easily-ingested dust particles.

What Quality Means to Us

Savvy Rest’s quality materials were chosen with your health and the health of our planet in mind. We source environmentally-conscious, natural materials that support a healthy sleep. The following materials will not introduce off-gassing chemicals, dangerous flame retardants or other toxic chemicals into your home or the air you breathe. There are two primary components in our organic latex mattresses: the latex and the casing.

What would lead a yoga-practicing, organic-food-eating marathon runner to start a mattress company? He couldn’t sleep.  Michael had insomnia, ironically at its worst while he was working for a futon company. In part, what he’d learned about materials and practices in the mattress industry was keeping him awake.

Most mattress stores were full of chemically treated fabrics covering cheap padding or noxious chemical foams, atop flimsy foundations. Stories of rip-offs, shoddy quality and deceptive product descriptions abounded. It occurred to Michael that many people approached mattress shopping in a state of fear. So he resolved to create a new kind of mattress company that offered a new level of quality and service.
